wo teenage girls from California are under arrest for allegedly vandalizing a high school soccer coach’s car with racial and homophobic slurs.

Local authorities said the two teens, who have not been named because they are minors, were caught after they became frightened upon hearing media reports of the vandalism.

“Initial media coverage of the incident may have scared the suspects into contacting the victim to try and apologize for their actions in the hope that they wouldn’t get in trouble,” Madera County Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Ward told the Sierra Star.

The two teens, ages 15 and 16, are being charged with felony vandalism and committing a hate crime after they purportedly covered Yosemite High School JV boys soccer coach Victor Salazar and his parents’ cars with feces and foul messages on two separate occasions.

The first attack allegedly occurred over last weekend before he and his family returned from a vacation. Salazar’s father’s car was sprayed with mustard and wrapped in plastic as was his mother’s Subaru, which also had penises drawn on them.

While the family laughed it off as a prank and did not report it to the authorities, Salazar said that same night he chased off two suspects vandalizing his Volkswagen Jetta with racial and homosexual slurs.

Among the words written on his car were “Go back to Mexico,” “Merrry Christmas b---h” and “Trump” written inside a phallic painting.

Salazar added that while he was able to clean off most of the writing, his car still has a number of heavy dents in it.

Salazar is a Yosemite alumnus from the 2014 class.

“I was very loved by teachers and students,” Salazar said. “And now that I started coaching at the high school, I was even more. And the more I think about it, I cannot picture who would have done this.”

The attacks have also stirred anger among area residents, who have set up a donation page to help him fix his car.

“I feel sick,” said Natalie Parra. “I can’t believe that people like this live here. Pitiful.”
