Hard to see past the main protagonists tbh......... 1000 on Jordan, 500 each on Day, Rory and Scotty :ok:

Par 3 comp on tv tonight, Butch Harmon normally commentates for Sky Sports over here - could listen to him all day, he's got so much passion for the game

An each-way bet is a wager offered by bookmakers consisting of two separate bets: a win bet and a place bet. For the win part of the bet to give a return, the selection must win, or finish first, in the event.

Each-way? :-k

You never heard of that? It's basically two bets, one on the person to win outright and one on the person to 'place' (just checked my usual bet site - they offer 1/4 odds for a top 5 finish). If i'm betting on a horse, and it's odds are 8/1 or higher then i'll normally back it each-way, then if it places instead of winning i'll at least get back more than i put on. Hope you understand that

Here, at least in horse racing, you bet to Win, Place, or Show. If you bet Win, the horse obviously must win. If you bet Place, the horse can finish first or second, and if you bet Show, the horse can either finish first, second, or third.

I remember seeing "show" when watching a US horse race and wondering what the hell it was  A "place" bet over here depends on the number of runners in a race (or players in a golf field etc), i think it'll payout 2 places up to 7 runners then 3 places from 8 until 14 or 15 iirc. For instance, the Grand National is this saturday, 40 horses will run and all bookmakers will pay-out on top 4 finishes for a place bet, some will even pay up to 5 or 6 places so it pays to check/shop around
