A shooting at a US Air Force base in Texas has left at least two people dead, police say.
Bexar County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland around 09:00 local time, a spokesman said.
The base is the home of the US Air Force's basic training programme.
The Sheriff's office said they believe it is a murder-suicide but are searching a building on the base to confirm.

Officials have told US media that an airman shot his commander in an apparent murder-suicide.

Police responded to reports of a shooting at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland around 09:00 local time (15:00 BST), a spokesman said.

Two bodies were found in a room at the base, and authorities believe the gunman is one of the dead.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said they continued to search the buildings after finding the people who were killed.

"There are no indications that this was a terrorist attack," an Air Force statement said.

Joint Base San-Antonio Lackland is the military's largest joint base, where airmen do basic training.

Two people are dead after a shooting Friday morning at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland -- an incident that involved an airman shooting his squadron commander, a Pentagon official told CNN on condition of anonymity.
No arrests have been reported, but the situation is over and a lockdown at the Texas facility -- also known as Lackland Air Force Base -- has been lifted, Brig. Gen. Robert LaBrutta told reporters.

LaBrutta gave few details about the shooting, which was reported at 8:40 a.m. (9:40 a.m. ET) in Forbes Hall, a building with offices and classrooms. He declined to identify the dead and gave no details about any relationship between the two, what led to the gunfire, or what ended it.

But a Pentagon official told CNN that an airman had shot his commander. The official did not comment on the status of either person.
Two "male victims" and two Glock guns were found in an office at Forbes Hall, LaBrutta said.

The shooting was "not a terrorism situation," he said.
After the shooting was reported to 911, security personnel evacuated Forbes Hall and initiated a lockdown of the base. They then searched the building for about an hour before lifting the lockdown and declaring the situation over.

Lackland is where the U.S. Air Force conducts its basic training for enlistees. Lackland is one of three major military facilities -- the others being Randolph Air Force Base and the U.S. Army's Fort Sam Houston -- that merged to form Joint Base San Antonio in 2010.
