A new Calvin Klein underwear ad featuring an upskirt picture of 22-year-old actress Klara Kristin's panties, inner thighs and buttocks has caused outrage since it was posted by the clothing company on Instagram on May 9.

The ad includes the tag: "I flash in #mycalvins."

The fashion company wrote on Instagram: "Take a peek: @karate_katia, photographed by @harleyweir for the Spring 2016 advertising campaign. #mycalvins."

Fashion Gone Rogue notes: "Always known for pushing the envelope, these images are are one part of many advertisements from the brand that take fashion advertising in a risque direction."

The fashion site notes Kristin's racy ad and others: Kendall Jenner suggestively holding an orange, model Abbey Lee Kershaw with her hand down her underwear and model Saskia de Brauw going topless with her arm barely covering her breasts.

The Daily Mail tried to contact Calvin Klein, and noted some of the outraged reactions on Instagram:

"This is really off. What is Calvin Klein advertising in this her spotty undies?? She looks more like a 12-year-old. Good picture for pedophiles."

"Misogynistic rubbish bordering on pedophilia. Gross. Some disturbed old guys wet dream."

"I'm so sick of advertisers doing this. Parading teenage girls as sex symbols and advertising women's stuff in overtly sexualized ways."

"It's making out that she's a young teen girl. That's THE POINT."

"The message is one of misogyny, disrespect and patriarchal pseudo-pedophillia. I object to that. It weakens society and panders to mental illness. This brand can do better so there's no excuse."

"I feel the same as you. It's quite sickening that companies do photo shoots like this."

However, one Instagram user defended the ad in principle:

"No girl, you're slut shaming. This grown a-- woman consented to this photo shoot and has every right to do it."

But most Instagram users were opposed:

"This isn't cutting edge, or innovative or directional or anything else you're trying to tell yourselves in the marketing department. It smacks of desperation."

"Way to make everyone following CK a sexual predator."

"Upskirt is a porn category!"

:hand:

Upskirt is only porn if it's sans panties.

Well, it's not exactly classy advertising, but as long as the person has consented to the photos, then I see nothing morally wrong.

From a consumer standpoint, I can't see what the hell I'm buying because there is almost no product showing and what little is showing isn't in focus.

From Allsmiles' standpoint, nice tush, dear.

"Nothing comes between me and my Calvins" Brooke Shields was 16 in the 1981 ad.

This girl is 22.

There is nothing new here, and the media storm is precisely why advertisement companies do this. Ya'll just sold a shit load of panties (excuse the gross pun).
