A drunk Macungie man naked from the waist down was found standing in the street outside his apartment Wednesday morning as children walked to their bus stop, borough police said.
David Hackl, 58, was found Wednesday morning in the first block of North Church Street wearing a green T-shirt, one sock and a bandage on his left ankle, but nothing else, police said.
"Hackl was asked why he was walking around without pants or underwear on, he had no response," police said.
Police said Hackl stumbled through a parking lot when they arrived; parents were walking their kids nearby to a bus stop.
Hackl appeared drunk, and a breath test found his blood-alcohol content was .18 percent. Officers took Hackl to his nearby apartment so he could get dressed to go to police headquarters; Hackl put a shirt on as pants, and was driven to police headquarters that way, authorities said.
Hackl is charged with indecent exposure and public drunkenness. He was sent to Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
