If you're at the point where you need to punch your 74-year-old mother and crack her pelvis because she won't give you money to buy drugs, you might be a drug addict.
That's what the friends of 43-year-old Michael Darin Gordon told the cops they saw him do to his mother while the mother and son were at a friend's house, police say.
Around 12:45 a.m. Saturday, Gordon put in a request to his mother for money to purchase unidentified drugs, which she did not approve of, according to the cops.
Gordon, apparently thinking his mother was good for drug money, allegedly punched his mom in the back of the head and shoved her, police say.
The friends upstairs heard the commotion and came down to see Gordon dragging his mother across the floor while she was screaming, according to the cops.
His mother was taken to the hospital -- where it was discovered that she had broken her pelvis during the fall -- but wouldn't tell Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputies what happened to her.
She told the cops that she is scared of her son but that he's a "good boy" and needed to go to rehab, according to police.
Gordon was arrested shortly after midnight yesterday and is charged with battery on a person 65 years of age or older. He is currently in the Palm Beach County Jail.
