Do you find the word hun annoying?

Hun is commonly used as a term of endearment – short for honey.

But it’s also a derogatory slur.

A campaign to ban the word was supported by the official Rangers fan board.

The petition, launched last year, states: ’Hun is used as a term of religious hatred, a derogatory and sectarian term for a protestant or those perceived to be protestant.’

The group planned to lobby Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to make use of the term illegal, reported the Herald Scotland.

The petition, which claims the word is a term of ‘religious hatred’, linked to the movement amassed thousands of signatures before closing.

The petition was launched after the abuse of Scottish singer Amy McDonald after she critiqued former footballer Stan Collymore.

Campaigners argue the term should considered just as offensive as the term ‘fenian’.

In a letter to Sturgeon, the campaign also urged for a ban on IRA chants, which they believe ‘should be outlawed and made illegal’.

It suggests the singers of the offensive chants should be ‘dealt with by the courts and banned’ from entering stadiums.

Anyone who's offended by words needs to man-the-fuck-up  It's a load of bullshit, you know someone got 3 months in jail last year for singing a song at the football? :|
