BURKBURNETT, Texas (AP) A North Texas woman is accused of punishing her stepsons by burning their tongues with a lighter and making them drink a concoction that caused them to vomit.
Police Detective Donald Osborn says Sara Woody, 24, also made the two boys lick dirty toilet rims.
Woody, of Burkburnett, north of Wichita Falls on the Oklahoma border, has been charged with nearly 30 counts of child abuse.
Osborn says the case began in March when one of the boys was taken to a hospital with an injury.
Woody was held Friday at the Wichita County jail in lieu of $3 million bond.
Her husband, Jonathan Woody, 34, was held on four charges.
Online jail records do not indicate an attorney to speak on their behalf.
