A man who exposed himself in a Bristol pub before sexually assaulting a woman, exposed himself in public twice more three months later.

Simon Coleman was "very drunk" in the Yeoman pub in Whitchurch when he exposed himself, Bristol Crown Court heard.

The 32-year-old waved his penis close to a woman as she passed him and put his arm around her, pressing his body against her.

She struggled free, told him to "put it away" and was left shaken by his behaviour, the court was told.

Coleman had also tried to insert pool balls in his backside, after dropping his trousers and sitting on the side of the pool table as he messed around with mates.

The court heard that, when he was arrested the day after the incident in November 2014, Coleman told police he had been very drunk in the Wells Road pub and dismissed the incident as just "boys' banter".

But a court heard Coleman publicly exposed himself again in February last year.

He walked into a Bristol newsagents and asked for a £14 bottle of whisky before running out without paying.

Then, about two hours later, he wandered into Highridge United Football Club, with his trousers down and penis exposed.

A male cleaner asked him what he was doing and Coleman apologised and walked out.

The court heard he then walked into the street and started shouting at people.

A driver saw him standing at a junction - again with his trousers down - shouting at passers-by.

Police were called and found him lying on a shed roof before he ran into a house's rear door and tried to hide in the attic.

Coleman, of Fortfield Road, Whitchurch, pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent exposure, theft, sexual assault on a female and outraging public decency.

Judge Martin Picton deferred sentence on Coleman at an earlier hearing, to give him a chance to change.

But at Bristol Crown Court today his sentencing was delayed again for legal reasons and he will now have to return to the court in August.
