Top Gear could be cancelled as audience figures continue to take a tumble, according to bookies.

Betway have tipped the BBC show to be canned as last night’s show was reportedly watched by 2.3million viewers – a drop of 700,000 from last week.

The overnight figures for the fourth episode mean there’s been a decrease from last week’s show, which reached 2.4million while 4.8million tuned into the season’s premiere.

The BBC has not yet confirmed the stats from the broadcast media ratings specialists, Overnights TV, which claimed the show received 10.4% of the audience.

The plunging ratings mean that Betway now has odds of 5/4 for BBC to axe the show completely.

But it’s not all bad news – Chris Evans has odds of 4/7 to return as the host while Matt LeBlanc is 2/1 to present the next season.

Despite the drop in viewers, last night’s show was well received by those that did bother to tune in with this Brexit joke by LeBlanc going down a treat.

Although some people still weren’t happy.
