Over 1.1 million people have signed the pledge to boycott Target indefinitely. Target hasn’t budged. It’s totally ridiculous. Target’s losing all of this business and money for what, exactly? To look like an “inclusive” company? Since when is asking men to use the men’s restroom discriminatory? Oh yeah. Since last week. Or something like that.

This isn’t even about appeasing 0.3% of the population. It’s the fact that you don’t even HAVE to be transgender. You can pretend to be gender fluid and go into any bathroom you desire. You don’t even have to offer any sort of explanation. THAT’S why the majority of people have a problem.

But the company is sticking to its guns. Meanwhile, Target’s stock has dropped by over 5 percent. By some estimates, that’s a loss of $2.5 billion.

And it only gets worse. Target’s consumer perception is taking a dip.

The number of people who said they would consider shopping at Target the next time they needed something from a department store dropped from 42% to 38%, as measured by the YouGov BrandIndex.

YouGuv measures customer perception and creates a “Buzz score” which asks respondents: “If you’ve heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?”

Target’s Buzz score dropped eight points, from 19 to 11, in the past weeks. Although when broken down by gender, Target’s image dropped more among women (by 12 points) than men (a 10 point decline).

Think it’ll get worse? Will Target eventually crack? The saga continues.
