After coming to the aid of a woman who fainted in Walmart tonight, Officer Keith Perry of Seekonk Police Department in Massachusetts discovered that the woman was homeless and hadn’t eaten in quite some time. He then took it upon himself to buy her some groceries and helped her get to a hotel room to ride out the snow storm.

Officers responded to a 911 call from a woman who reported her 81-year-old mother missing. It seems her mother left her house to take her daily walk up and down the driveway, but when she didn’t return, things got a bit scary because the woman’s mother has dementia. Officers P. DeBoe, C. Caywood, B. Morrison, Sgt. C. Black, and Cpl. C. Clevenger and his K9 partner responded to the scene and began a search of the heavily wooded area.
After 40 minutes, the woman was found. At first, she seemed confused at the sudden appearance of police officers on the tree-lined trail, and she asked if the officers were out taking a walk too. They quietly replied ‘Yes,” after all, it was a beautiful day. And then she seemed relieved and told them she had lost her way. “No problem,” said Officer Morrison who then gently took her hand and, along with the other officers walked her back to her house. Along the way, the officers made small talk with the woman, to make her feel at ease. When asked what the key to a long, healthy life was, the woman replied, “Eat good and stay active.”

Getting pulled over is more often than not a pretty terrible experience. That’s exactly what Michigan father LaVonte Dell was prepared for when he was pulled over recently for having extra-dark tint on his windows, which is illegal.

But the universe had a small surprise for Dell, who happened to get pulled over by Officer Joshua Scaglione.

Aside from the overly tinted windows, Officer Scaglione had noticed Dell’s daughter wasn’t in a car seat, and grilled him on the safety of his child.

“Why isn’t your daughter in a car seat?” Scaglione asked.

“I can’t afford it,” the officer recalled Dell saying.

“Ok I appreciate you being honest,” said Scaglione.

Officer Scaglione politely asked Dell to step out of the car and explain his situation. Dell has been living from paycheck to paycheck, and affording a car seat seemed next to impossible.

Scaglione then asked Dell to follow him to Wal-Mart, where he proceeded to buy him a new car seat.

Dell was so moved by the gesture, he took the local PD’s Facebook page and left this heartwarming comment.

“Yesterday I was pulled over in Westland for my window tint.
This stop was nothin like I thought it would be. He got my s—t and was walking back to the car and seen my daughter wasn’t in a car seat. So he asked me to get out and speak with him.
He asked why didn’t she have one and I told him all I been thru this year like I barely making it because of these garnishments and I really don’t like asking people for (stuff).
Do you know this white police officer told me to follow him to Walmart on Ford road and he purchased my daughter a car seat with his own money. If you would have seen us in Walmart u would have thought we were best friends. It was like night and day.
U got me hella tats walkin side by side with a white officer Westland at that. I’ve been calling all day trying to get his name because I was so in shock. I didn’t even look at his name tag.
Never judge a book by it’s cover it’s most def is some good guys left. I told him I never met a officer like u.
He said I’m just doing my job what good would giving u a ticket do besides putting u further in the hole making it harder on you to come up.”

Scaglione said that he understood Dell’s struggle as he was a teenage father himself, but acknowledged he had support from his family to assist him financially.

“A citation or ticket is not always the solution to somebody’s problems. There are other routes we can take by using discretion as police officers to solve somebody’s problem. That’s the road I decided to go.”

If it wasn’t for someone seeing him in the act, Officer Ed Parks would have gotten away with a supremely generous act, and no one would have known.

He saw a homeless man in need and bought him a hot meal.

Parks was out on patrol in 51 Division which is in Regent Park, on an extremely cold day, when he saw a homeless man standing on the corner. Parks got out to speak to him and found the man mumbling and incoherent. Feeling concerned, he asked the man if he was a diabetic.

He was. Officer Parks took him inside a Tim Hortons for coffee and a cookie.

Once inside, the man told Parks that he hadn’t eaten in a while, so Parks bought him lunch and sat with him for a while.

This gesture was noticed, by a neighbour or the Tim Hortons staff and an email was sent to the communications office of the Toronto Police Service. They shared his story on Facebook, then tracked Parks down and wanted to highlight his generous act.

He shared his story on the Toronto Police Service YouTube page. You can watch it below

I'll say something about this photo

Its what cops used to be, should be,

but are these days a dying breed, unfortunately

when you take over a population by outbreeding, it takes some time to happen but when you control the top, it is simply an inevitability.
