There she is, Miss Teen USA, and there are all her racist tweets.
The pageant, already under fire for its lack of diversity among its finalists, was hit with another scandal after their newly crowned queen’s resurfaced Twitter posts showed her constantly using the N-word.
Within minutes of winning the Teen USA title on Saturday night in Las Vegas, Karlie Hay’s social media history came back to haunt her, in posts from 2013 to 2014.
Hay, formerly Miss Texas Teen USA, wrote in posts to her friends, “I know I’m a comedian n----r,””don’t threaten me I will wrap your house n----r,” and “I don’t have your number, n----.”
The old Twitter account has since been turned private, with Hay explaining her actions on her official account.

“I admit that I have used language publicly in the past which I am not proud of and that there is no excuse for,” she wrote early Sunday.
She blamed her racist language on “personal struggles,” and said she’s become a “better person” through education.

The Miss Universe Organization defended their winner on Sunday, arguing that it was a learning experience.
“The language Karlie Hay used is unacceptable at any age and in no way reflects the values of The Miss Universe Organization. As Karlie stated, she was in a different place in her life and made a serious mistake she regrets and for which she sincerely apologizes,” the organizers said in a statement to the Daily News.

Ashley Alese Edwards, Miss Long Island 2017 and a former Daily News copy editor, felt that Hay’s scandal could have been avoided entirely if she were more upfront about it from the beginning.
“The first thing a director will ask you is if you have anything out on the internet that will come back to bite you,” Edwards told The News. “It’s really embarrassing for her and the pageant.”

Across social media, users have expressed outrage at Hay’s past tweets.
Former Miss Teen USA Kamie Crawford, who is black, called out the newly-crowned teen queen, wondering why she didn’t delete her Twitter feed prior to the contest.
“If u win any pageant - first things first. Clean up ur page,” Crawford wrote on Twitter. “Cus if ur under 21 u shouldn’t b drinking & if ur WHITE the n word ain’t yo word!”
Even before Hay’s win, the pageant was ridiculed on social media for its lack of diversity, with all five finalists being blond, white women.
Model Chrissy Teigen sarcastically mocked the final five contestants, writing, “Wow how can we choose from such a diverse bunch.”
