AN ACID man smiley face has brought the heady days of rave... to the centre of a bubbling volcano.
Not since the Second Summer of Love in 1989, when Acid House Music took over the airwaves, has the smiley face symbol been given such a high-profile setting.
This time, the smiley face, which became the symbol of the Acid House musical revolution, appeared inside the Kilauea volcano’s crater during an ongoing eruption.
Mick Kalber of helicopter tour company Paradise Helicopters captured the remarkable scene.

The Kilauea volcano has been continuously erupting since 1983, making it one of the most active volcanoes in the world, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The Second Summer of Love was born when the rave scene ripped through the UK from 1988 with illegal raves and warehouse parties taking place across London and the south east, particularly around the M25.
