DEARBORN, Mich. - A Dearborn man was arrested Wednesday after federal authorities raided a home in connection to child pornography charges involving a 13-year-old girl from New Jersey.

Randy Montante is facing federal charges of producing child pornography, receiving child pornography and online enticement of a minor. Montante is in his 20s.

In a 12-page criminal complaint filed in federal court Wednesday, the graphic details are described about the exchange of naked photographs and videos.

Mother goes to police

According to the complaint, the mother of the 13-year-old girl went to the Bayonne Police Department to report that her daughter had been chatting online with an individual and that “naked photos” were being exchanged during the chats. The mother told police she believed the relationship had been happening on Facebook, Instagram and Skype since February 2016.

Two days prior to going to the police, the mother had told the individual to leave her daughter alone via text message. She discovered their communication continued and again confronted the individual, this time on Twitter.

Detectives spoke with the 13-year-old girl, who acknowledged that she had an online relationship with a man she met on a video sharing website called Omegle and the girl told detectives that she originally told the man that she was 18 years old, but later admitted to him that she was 13, according to the complaint.

The complaint alleges that the conversations started as small talk, but evolved into the suspect asking the girl to send “explicit pictures” and she complied, sending nude photographs.

She also told detectives that her conversations with him later transitioned to live video chatting using Skype on a regular basis, according to the complaint.

During a second interview with the victim, she provided detectives with the man’s Kik messaging and Skype accounts’ usernames. His user name was “doimakeurandy.” She also provided authorities with his telephone number.

Investigation begins

A subpoena was served to AT&T requesting subscriber information for the phone number.

On Aug. 2, with the permission of the victim’s parents, a detective assumed the online identity of the victim.

When the detective made it clear to the suspect the victim’s age, he responded by saying:

“A good friend of mine said if you like someone, and it’s real, age doesn’t matter.”

The user also discussed how illegal their relationship was and stated that he could go to prison if law enforcement dug it up, according to the complaint.

The individual changed user names and continued the conversations, asking the detective to produce videos in her bathroom. He also stated:

“In fact after this I’m going to talk like you’re 18 and in college…Because if the cops find out…I’m going to go to jail for at LEAST 10 YEARS…And we won’t be able to talk for a while.”

A number of videos were described in graphic detail in the complaint.

Subpoenas were served requesting subscriber information from internet providers and social media outlets to link IP addresses and account information to the individual, according to the complaint.

House raided, suspect arrested

A federal search warrant was executed at Montante’s residence Wednesday.

He agreed to be interviewed and admitted to the communications, according to the authorities. Agents also said a USB flash drive was found which had multiple videos and images of children engaged in sexual activity, according to the complaint.
