GREAT FALLS -

John William Jumper has been charged in Great Falls after he allegedly stabbed a man with a sword.

According to court documents, three people went to Jumper's residence on August 16 to pick up or move a TV set.

When the three people arrived, Jumper and the victim began arguing; Jumper then apparently stabbed the victim with what was described as a "samurai sword."

The victim looked toward his stomach and saw his "guts" hanging out, according to court documents.

The victim ran back to the vehicle, and the other two people followed and drove him to the Benefis Health System emergency department.

A short time later, Jumper called 911 to report that he had been robbed at his residence.

He claimed that the three people had come to his house to steal his TV, and told dispatchers that during the robbery, he stabbed a man with a samurai sword.

The man who was stabbed was unable to provide officers with a statement until August 19th due to his critical medical condition.

According to court documents, the victim's colon, pancreas, and one kidney had been damaged during the stabbing.

Jumper has been charged with felony criminal endangerment for the incident; we do not know if additional charges will be filed.

Jumper has convictions in Cascade County and Flathead County for criminal endangerment, theft, and criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute, according to the Montana Department of Corrections.
