A 39-year-old man accused of having sex with a victim between the ages of 12 and 16 denied his actions to Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
David Frank Stancil said he hadn’t done “any dang (expletive) like that,” when he was questioned. He said he had spanked her on her buttocks but later said he’d only touched her leg, according to his Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
The victim told deputies he would come into her bedroom while she was sleeping and wouldn’t leave her alone. She said it happened whenever he was drunk, which was every night, the report said.
Stancil told deputies he had a drinking problem and would consume as many as 18 beers. He also smokes crack, which makes him feel “perverted,” he said.
He said he was scared and embarrassed about the situation but that it was not intentional.
“What a mess,” he told deputies. “They could send me away for a long time.”
He also said if someone did this and couldn’t remember, they should get a second chance.
