UFO hunters claim to have found a stunning array of evidence for life on Mars, including crocodile and frog-like creatures and what appears to be a fossilised egg.

Other bizarre "discoveries" on the Red Planet which have been compiled into a video, include alien corpses, a tank, a cannon, an alien skull, and even a giant worm.

Various websites and YouTube channels have been posting details of the curious finds in images beamed back to earth by NASA rovers exploring the Martian surface for as long as they have been there.

They claim the objects identified provide compelling evidence that Mars has or once housed multiple lifetimes, including intelligent humanoid species.

Now many of the so-called discoveries have been analysed by a UFO hoax buster, who has reached some pretty conclusive findings of his own.

Constantine Guiliotis is behind the UFO Theatre website, which pulls apart the far-fetched claims of many of the alien website sand channels.

In an hilarious five-minute video skit, Mr Guiliotis says most of these channels are trading on pareidolia to get online views.

Pareidolia is a phenomenon whereby the brain tricks the eyes it is seeing familiar shapes or objects in textures or patterns such as clouds or a rock surface.

In his clever CGI film, Mars Madness, Mr Guiliotis brings the Martian lifeforms, or rocks depending on which way you lean, to life to show “just how ridiculous" some of the claims have been.

In a promotional blurb for his video, Mr Guiliotis wrote: "I have to admit I was stunned at the number of insane pareidolia-driven Mars channels on YouTube, yet after some thought, it makes sense.

"It’s incredibly easy to spot something unusual among millions of rock formations in thousands of photos, doctor it up with Photoshop and create a glorified slide show.

"It’s hoaxing for the completely lazy and talentless.

"The hoaxers would have us believe that the Martian landscape is strewn with random objects having no plausible explanation for their placement or existence.

"I wondered what such a nutty environment would look like, so we now have Mars Madness as a reference."
