View Full Version : Have you ever approach your home door and pushed the unlock on your car's remote entry?

I do it all the time, then wonder if I unlocked the car and mutter to myself that I am an idiot.

We don't use the front door, nor do we carry our car fobs when we have to use a house key to get in.

That's what he's talking about, using your car's keyless remote to try and unlock your front door to your house :slap:

Sorry, RBP. I had to do it. I voted for you're a fucking moron.

We don't have that kind of tech here yet.

:-k

I wonder how long it's gonna take for someone to hack that.

Someone (besides me) voted that they have done it before.

So you just walk up with a card in your pocket and the car starts and unlocks itself?

Yes card in pocket, door unlocks when you pull door handle and then push button start

It probably exists over here. It's probably a $2000 extra option on a luxury car that costs $40,000.

Getting more common on mid range cars. Not a card but a key fob. it will sense the fob and unlock the door.

So my new building has double gates to get into the underground parking. The Strata Nazis are VERY serious about going into the first gate and waiting for it to close before opening the second (despite the fact that it's a nice area and the building hasn't had a car broken into ever)

RBP, you'd be proud to know that at least twice a week I get into the middle area, and just as the gate closes behind me I press the wrong button so the back gate re-opens and I have to sit there waiting for it to close again  I've even done in twice in a row a few times. I'm not a smart man.

Did you see The Omega Man... Charlton Heston could have used that set up.
