In one of the most touching moments of the nights of protests in Charlotte, someone wearing a “Free Hugs” shirt walked over to the line of police officers and gave one of them a hug.
But when he did so, protesters shouted things like, “You a pussy!” and “N*gger, that fucking squad did that shit!”
The man proceeded to argue with protesters about how they can’t be painting all police officers with a broad brush, saying, “None of these people here shot anyone!”

He said it makes no sense for someone to “want to fight me” just for giving a cop a hug, preaching a message of love and peace.
One protester told him that “we all should be equal, but we’re not.”
