A police officer died Thursday morning after being shot in Pennsylvania, a coroner says, as authorities launched a manhunt for a suspect.
WPXI reported the shooting took place around 4 a.m. in Canonsburg, 20 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.
One officer was taken to the hospital by an ambulance and another officer was flown.
A coroner later confirmed that one of the officers died, KDKA reports. Both officers’ names have not been released and the condition of the other officer is unknown.
Details on the suspect were not immediately available.
A witness told KDKA that the shooting started as a domestic dispute between a man and his pregnant wife.
