What is the worst thing that has ever happened to you at work?
Maybe it was a mean boss shouting at you in front of everyone, a colleague nicking your lunch, or missing out on that big promotion.

The Chinese construction worker had a fall and landed on a pile of steel bars.
One of the metal bars impaled his scrotum and travelled the entire length of his abdomen, coming to rest in his abdominal cavity.

Which is just about the worst injury imaginable.
The 36-year-old’s colleagues managed to hold him steady while firefighters sawed off part of the 60cm (20 inch) bar.
The poor guy was conscious for the entire time after the fall in east China’s Jiangsu Province.
Surgeons spent an hour removing the rest of the bar from inside the workman.
And not only did Wu survive, but he is expected to make a full recovery as, amazingly, there was no damage to his vital organs.
His biggest risk now is a post-operation infection, but he is expected to be discharged within a week.
