ANCIENT monuments and ruins seen in photographs of Mars are being IGNORED by NASA, it has astonishingly been claimed.
Alien hunters say that two crumbling pyramids, like those from ancient Egypt and central America, have been found in a picture taken by the NASA Curiosity rover droid.
In a blog entitled 'Ancient Pyramids On Mars Just One Mile From NASA Rover! NASA Ignores Them', ufosightingsdaily.com made the remarkable allegation.
Scott C Waring, the website's editor, was commenting on a video about the so-called discovery, made by YouTube paranormal channel Martian Archeology.
The channel claimed to get the images after an alleged struggle with the US space agency.
It wrote in a promotional blurb for the video: "After some 200 days of red tape, delays, and censorship we get the archived images from NASA's Curiosity Rover clearly showing two pyramids side by side on the Planet Mars."

Mr Waring said: "These two pyramids were discovered by Martian Archeology of Youtube this week.
"I really like this find, because of the unique stepped pyramid on the left, which closely resembles some found in Mexico.
"The pyramids are imperfect, because of age, but its still amazing that such structures exist on Mars and have never been addressed by NASA.
"Why is that rover driving around looking for tiny microbes of life, when huge five-floor pyramids are just a mile away?"
It is not the first time alleged pyramids or other ruins have been found on Mars.
Earlier claims were discoveries of ruined walled cities, ancient temples, and even a Mars Henge, like Stonehenge in Wiltshire.
Mr Waring added: "If NASA was really trying, they would explore some of these UFO researchers discoveries on live cam so the public could see it unedited.
"When NASA edits everything, taking several months before the public gets to see them...its evidence that NASA has something very big to hide from the public.
"But...we don't need NASA anymore to find life do we? Worldwide UFO hunters are on the job doing thousands of times more discoveries per year than NASA."
The alien conspiracy theorists have yet to explain why they think NASA would spend billions on its space exploration programmes to land driods on Mars to purposefully overlook evidence of an ancient civilization.
There is a widespread theory among some alien believers that Mars once had life that flourished just like on Earth, with civilisations to rival our own, but that it was killed off by a catastrophic nuclear war.
There doesn't seem to be any evidence to support the wild claims.
NASA says the so-called discoveries of ancient structures on Mars are simply the effects of pareidolia coupled with imagination and wishful thinking.
This is when the brain tricks the eyes into seeing familiar objects or shapes, such as animals or faces in textures or patterns, such as clouds or the surface of a rock.
