IT’S the shot of whiskey that mere mortals can only dream about.
A world-famous American sour mash has arrived in Sydney and is available to those with a taste for fine liquor — and a whopping bank balance.
A nip of the Michter’s Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey, a Kentucky bourbon, can be bought for an eye-watering $485 — or you could buy the entire bottle for $6000.

Neil Perry’s Rockpool Bar & Grill is one of just two local venues that will be stocking the costly comestible, with the first bottle available to the public tomorrow.
And bar manager Ryan Gavin suggests the “once in a lifetime” drink is best enjoyed neat or, perhaps, with a few drops of demineralised, filtered water.

“Though we have a pretty consistent philosophy here that we don’t discriminate in regards to how people like to drink, so if they decide they want it on ice with coke then … it’s going to be the best damned bourbon and coke that they will ever have,” he laughed.
