A failed standup comedian named Stephen Spinola is the latest person on the left to take potshots at Barron Trump, the 10-year-old son of Donald Trump. Spinola, who boasts 36,000 followers on Twitter, made a series of tweets that painted young Barron as a rapist.

“Barron Trump looks like a very handsome date-rapist-to-be,” he wrote. The tweet was vile, but his follow-up was even worse.

“I don’t want my Mom to get raped, but if she does I hope it’s by Barron Trump—small pp would be painless & we’d win lots of money in court.”

His vile tweets were liked by a small, but significant number of his followers, receiving several hundred retweets and likes. Saner voices spoke out against him, prompting their deletion and a subsequent half-hearted apology.

“I believe in math and the stats are saying I made a bad joke,” he wrote. “I truly apologize if it hurt Barron Trump’s feelings. And that’s all I can say.”

On his Twitter bio, Spinola claims to be a content contributor for Comedy Central. Since Spinola’s tweet about Barron, Comedy Central has issued a disclaimer saying Spinola was never employed by them.

A resume on Spinola’s website says he works for Playboy, Cheezburger and The Huffington Post. But we were unable to find any bylines by him on those sites, and the only references to him on the sites are articles linking to a couple of his tweets, like this one:

One of his memes—which received a total of 32 likes and 17 retweets—was featured in a post on Cheezburger after being retweeted by Comedy Central’s Midnight.

Spinola’s verbal attack on Barron may be the most attention he will ever receive.

The kids really should be off limits. Gotta give it to Trump for keeping Barron out of the spotlight save for a few appearances.

I remember even in 2009 there were dozens of people calling Obama's girls 'ghetto thugs' and shit on Twitter. There's always going to be people who stoop that low.
