Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Donald Trump, sparred with Chelsea Clinton on Twitter on Friday. The feud stemmed from Conway referencing the "Bowling Green Massacre" during a Thursday interview on MSNBC.

The exchange began when Clinton tweeted her gratitude that no one had been injured in the incident Friday at the Louvre museum in Paris, where a machete-wielding man was stopped by a French solider–or the "completely fake Bowling Green Massacre."
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Very grateful no one seriously hurt in the Louvre attack ...or the (completely fake) Bowling Green Massacre. Please don&#39;t make up attacks.</p>&mdash; Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) <a href="https://twitter.com/ChelseaClinton/status/827518183934394370">February 3, 2017</a></blockquote><script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Clinton was referencing an interview the prior day in which Conway told MSNBC that two Iraqi refugees carried out an attack at Bowling Green, Ky. No such incident occurred, however.

Conway struck back on Twitter, reminding Clinton that President Trump won the general election and that her mother has been embroiled in a fake attack scandal of her own.

"Bosnia lie a Great reminder," Conway wrote at the beginning of her tweet, referencing Hillary Clinton's false claim that she landed under sniper fire in Bosnia in 1996.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Bosnia lie a Great reminder. And 2 <a href="https://twitter.com/ChelseaClinton">@ChelseaClinton</a> &amp; others, you can&#39;t &quot;invent&quot; quality candidates either. I misspoke; you lost the election <a href="https://t.co/7TwnX2b5yA">https://t.co/7TwnX2b5yA</a></p>&mdash; Kellyanne Conway (@KellyannePolls) <a href="https://twitter.com/KellyannePolls/status/827581317969764352">February 3, 2017</a></blockquote><script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Conway concluded her tweet by pointing out that she was the one working in the White House now.

"I misspoke; you lost the election," Conway wrote to Clinton.

She misspoke, and admitted she misspoke. There was no massacre, it was a terrorist plot that resulted in Obama slowing the Visa program for Iraqi refugees to permit better vetting. Which was her point - precedent.

Not a particularly good point, but that was her point nonetheless.

...what she described occurred in Bowling Green, Ky., in late May 2011.

Two Iraqi citizens, Mohanad Shareef Hammadi and Waad Ramadan Alwan, were indicted on federal terrorism charges. According to a Justice Department news release from January 2013, the two men had attempted to send weapons and money to Al Qaeda in Iraq with the aim of killing American soldiers there.

Both defendants pleaded guilty to the federal charges, and Mr. Hammadi was sentenced to life in prison, while Mr. Alwan, whose fingerprints were found on an undetonated improvised explosive device in Iraq, was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison, with a life term of supervised release.

Assistant Attorney General Lisa Monaco said at the time, “These two former Iraqi insurgents participated in terrorist activities overseas and attempted to continue providing material support to terrorists while they lived here in the United States. With today’s sentences, both men are being held accountable.”
