After getting my Nikon this last summer, I've already shot thousands of random pics and no one ever sees them. I thought I'll share some.

I studied photography in High School and continued taking advanced courses in Collage while also studying in another field. But that was advanced photo chemistry! A now lost art with the death of film photography.

The digital world is not to different as far as shooting, but the advanced photo touching is still a mystery to me.

All the pix I'll post are totally untouched.

The first, this was shot in southern France last summer.

These were all shot with the 18-105mm that it came with. http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product/Camera-Lenses/2179/AF-S-DX-NIKKOR-18-105mm-f%252F3.5-5.6G-ED-VR.html

I now also have a standard 35mm prime lens. http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product/Camera-Lenses/2183/AF-S-DX-NIKKOR-35mm-f%252F1.8G.html

This one has movement, I liked the way the wings streaked as it flew away.

I think thats basically what I have on my Canon. So you have to be pretty close to the subject taking these then?

Yeah, the butterflies were so busy feeding, I just stood still and they just keep doing what they were doing.

Shooting air shows is actually tougher then it looks. You need to track the aircraft as it shoots from side to side and their various speeds while keeping it in center frame without shaking. That F-22 was going just about subsonic, all I could do is rapid-fire then check my results later.

I have allot more from that airshow, but I need to reduce the file sizes because I can't host larger then 3mb. for direct view.

If your talking about the proof print?? That's just the MS Office Photo Viewer, then a screen shot with One Note!

Here are a few I did with my old Sony 717.

This first one was from our cabin balcony on a ship in port off of Vancouver, Canada

A couple years ago, we stayed at our friends high-rise penthouse in Long Beach, Ca. The Queen Mary can be seen in the center with the strand of lights over the smoke stacks.

Some great pics Ant! And the #19 pic is just awesome!

I don't have a lot of recent stuff but if I get time I'll try and put up some pics that are on my camera. There are a few butterfly pics that I took in South Carolina that came out great with a point and shoot camera, My Mom is a photo nut and she was stunned at the luck I was having. I was getting within 8-12 inches of them without them flying off.

We took the kids to a tropical domed nature preserve, near where we live. One dome was for nocturnal animals, in one section you just walk through long pitch black caves. All you hear are squeaks, flapping, and then wind blowing on you. It's so dark, there's no way of seeing what's there! I flipped on the Night Vision and snapped a few pics, this is what was over head!

This last Tues. we were in the Swiss alps at the famous Rigi Kulm. There's a hotel that looks like it sits on top of the world, it's surrounded by sheer cliffs.

http://www.myswitzerland.com/en/interests/cycling/mountainbiking/rigi.html

The clouds were moving just under us, then occasionally blow right over with snow flurries. These few shots were around the Hotel.
