A mum told cops her six-year-old daughter had been kidnapped in a bid to hide the fact that she was 'too drunk to remember where she was'.
Maria Irias, 29, admitted making up the story and was arrested on Sunday on charges of neglect and filing a false report.
Irias allegedly told Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in Florida she had been drinking all day Saturday and had no recollection of where her daughter was because she was so drunk.
She last remembered seeing her six-year-old daughter “around 3:30 or 4:00 pm Saturday,” deputies said.
Irias told deputies that she was with her daughter at El Bodegon, at Forest Hill and Jog Road, when she accepted a stranger’s offer of a ride home.
Irias said that after arriving at her residence in the Tavaras Cove Mobile Home Park, near Greenacres, the driver sped off with the girl.

She went so far as to describe the alleged kidnapper and the getaway vehicle in detail.
Authorities issued an Amber Alert on Saturday to ask for the public’s assistance in locating the girl.
The little girl was found a short time later unharmed.
