It’s never too early for a little Christmas spirit and the concept for this new picture book is all the proof you need of that.
3 December 2016, Daniel Kibblesmith, a staff writer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, tweeted that he and his partner would only tell their child about ‘Black Santa’ and ‘White Santa’ was his husband.
And now that tweet will be brought to life in the form of a picture book called, ‘Santa’s Husband’ which portrays Santa in a gay, interracial relationship.

Time explains that Daniel Kibblesmith, ‘created the book, a parody in the vein of infamous pre-bedtime read Go the F**k to Sleep, for his children.’
The book will be produced in partnership with publishing house Harper Design and will be released 10 October.

Sadly not everyone is excited about the concept.

This closed mindedness to change is disappointing, though sadly, not surprising.
We believe that anything which acts as a vehicle for discussion about the world is a good thing.
