A group of of schoolchildren is campaigning for a teacher to be reinstated after she was suspended for posting ‘provocative and sultry’ selfies on Facebook.
Divorced mother of three Lydia Ferguson was escorted off the premises of Ousedale School in Buckinghamshire, Engand, after uploading the photos on social media.

In one, the 39-year-old is sitting on the edge of a bed wearing high heels and a short white playsuit (main image). In others, like that above, she is wearing low-cut tops. Her Facebook page was open, leaving anyone free to view the pictures.
An investigation at the school, which has 2,000 students aged 11 – 18, is under way but pupils have already backed the pastoral care teacher, accusing the school of being ‘prudish’.
Yesterday Mrs Ferguson was on social media defending herself. ‘My rule is that if my Grandad would be disgusted, I’d never post it,’ she said. ‘I’m not worried about my pictures, but it seems some people are!’
Pupils at the school said they heard Mrs Ferguson being reprimanded by managers in the school office before she was suspended two weeks ago.
Recording the eight-minute row on their phones, they reported hearing senior staff accuse her of being ‘sultry’ and ‘provocative’.
One of the pupils said: ‘Mrs Ferguson was saying she didn’t think there was anything wrong with the photo. All it was showing was a bit of leg.’
Students have now launched a campaign called ‘Get Miss Ferguson Back’. It secured more than 250 signatures, including some from parents, within 24 hours.
One pupil said: ‘She is a brilliant teacher. She is there to help students who have problems like bullying and stuff. She does so much to help us and we’re so upset she’s been suspended.’
The school’s head, Sue Carbert, said: ‘If we have any concerns about a staff member, this would not be discussed with students. We are aware of rumours, but conclusions are being drawn which have no factual basis.’
