A teenage Somalian asylum seeker living in Germany has been charged by police with raping two disabled men in a care home and also with murdering one of the men’s wives.
The asylum seeker, who is 18 years old, allegedly broke into the Haus am Bürgerpark care home in Neuenhaus in the county of Betheim in Lower Saxony, northern Germany, in October 2016.
It is claimed that he first went into the room of a man aged 59 who is paralyzed and raped him.
According to police, the 18-year-old then went into a nearby room and raped a second male resident.
During the second attack, the victim’s 87-year-old wife apparently confronted the Somalian man and he allegedly killed her.
According to reports based on police intelligence, he did this using ‘great force’ to avoid being caught for the double rape.
The accused man is currently being held in custody in a psychiatric hospital. His trial is set to be heard before the Landgericht Osnabrück youth court.
