Less than two years after opening in the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, the world’s largest Hooters is closing.
The restaurant, which officially opened in September 2015, takes up a whopping 15,200 square feet and has the capacity to seat up to 500 guests.
Though the brand is thriving in other parts of the country, and preparing for a massive expansion throughout the Asia, Hooters at the Palms Casino faced stiff competition from other eateries in the city that also feature scantily clad waitresses like Tilted Kilt and Heart Attack Grill. According to Pace Vegas, the Hooters at the Palms was losing millions each year.

A spokeswoman for the Palms Casino Resort confirmed to Fox News that the restaurant would be closing mid-May.
"Hooters will be closing in the coming weeks to make way for exciting new enhancements we are planning for The Palms. We thank the entire Hooters team for being a great addition to the property’s food and beverage offerings the past few years,” the spokeswoman said, but would not confirm what type of business would be taking over the large space.
When it first opened in 2015, the Palms’ Hooters took over Heraea, a female-focused sports bar that was open for less than a year.
Hooters, which first opened in 1983, now operates over 400 locations in 42 states and 26 countries.
