A female factory worker’s scalp was ripped completely from her head after her hair got caught in a machine.
Doctors spent eights hours sewing the woman’s scalp back on after it was ripped completely off when she bent down to pick something off the floor.
The plastic factory worker, from Jinhua City in east China, remained conscious throughout the accident and was seen covered in blood with her flesh completely exposed.
Her detached scalp and hair was retrieved from within the machinery and given to paramedics who arrived several minutes later.
She was rushed to Zhejiang University International Hospital in Hangzhou for emergency surgery.

Doctors Li Bin and Huang Xiaohua carried out the procedure to reattach her scalp.
Doctor Li said ‘The patient’s scalp had been completely torn off from below her eyebrows, both her ears, and the lower part of her neck behind her head.
‘It was very severe trauma, and she was in shock from blood loss.’
The woman, whose surname is Yang, is recovering in intensive care.
