DES MOINES, IA (KCCI/CNN) - Cellphone video captured a brawl at a McDonald's between an employee and an upset - and apparently hungry - customer.

A huge brawl began after a customer said her McChicken was taking too long. Amanda Gravely was sitting in the drive thru getting ice cream for her kids when the fight broke out and recorded it on her cellphone.

"Automatically, just because of how irate she was, I took out my camera and recorded her - just to see how far it would go just in case," Gravely said. "And it just escalated really quickly."

The employee handed the woman her food, and she threw the McChicken back in her face.

"As soon as the woman makes contact with her then she's just at it," Gravely said.

The blonde woman is pulled over the counter, knocking over bottles. The manager dragged the woman down by her hair.

Two men were with the woman. You can even hear one telling the woman to grab the manager's hair.

The two men hold employees back as the woman pulls the manager's hair and knees her in the chest.

Finally they are pulled a part. The blonde woman and the two men left the restaurant before police arrived.

Police are still working to identify the customer in the video. Anyone with information was asked to come forward.

"Life's too short to get that mad over a chicken sandwich," Gravely said.

DES MOINES — The woman believed to be caught on camera fighting a McDonald's employee Saturday in Des Moines has been arrested.

Des Moines police arrested Valerie Shepherd, 21, on Tuesday. She was charged with assault causing injury and disorderly conduct. According to KCCI-TV, Des Moines police credited the public's tips for the arrest.

Shepherd was released from jail Tuesday afternoon, according to online jail records.

Shepherd, along with two men, went to the McDonald's on Saturday night. They ordered McChicken sandwiches, but apparently were hungry and upset about the wait time, a police report said.

Employees told police Shepherd came to the counter and started yelling that she wanted either her food or her money back.

"Give me my (expletive)!" Shepherd can be heard shouting in a video recorded by another customer.

The manager is seen handing Shepherd a McChicken sandwich she ordered, but Shepherd rejects it and throws the chicken sandwich in the manager's face.

Two men with Shepherd soon approached the counter and an employee attempted to dial 911, but Shepherd knocked the phone out of her hand and then punched her, the employee told police.

In the video, the manager holds back a punch, which prompts Shepherd to climb the counter and throw punches of her own.

There were as many as nine people seen in the video behind the counter involved in the altercation, with staff and the two men among others having to separate the manager and Shepherd.

Two employees were shoved during the altercation, but none was hospitalized for injuries.

Amanda Gravely, 34, of Des Moines, captured video of the incident while she was in the drive-thru with her husband and children.

"(I) wanted to record in case it escalates," Gravely said.

According to online court records, Shepherd was arrested in October 2016 for public intoxication.
