It's not like you have a very big climb in the batting department. You've been keeping pace with me in the majority of the categories and we've been neck and neck in the average and slugging percentage almost everyday. If Konerko would get a few damn hits for me today, I'd be happy, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I hate not having a first baseman that can hit consistently. I like the fact that Sizemore and Utley are back off the DL, but until they both get their timing down, they're kinda useless to me right now.

It doesn't look like you're going to get much out of Jackson today, he's already lost the quality start against Toronto. I was watching the game. Bautista is abusing your man.

Although you having 4 starting pitchers tomorrow looks pretty formidable.

I added the 4th starter to try and have a huge day to catch up, hopefully the bats come alive too! You think it's close, but I think you're pretty locked in; it would take some serious rallying to get that back to even.

Nah, overall my batters should be hitting better than they are. I've added two batters who've been streaking to try and get a little more production in my lineup, but that's a crapshoot at best. So far, one of them isn't working out, although if Konerko gets a day off tomorrow, at least I'll have another first baseman to take his slot. I think if you have one really good day either today or tomorrow, or both for that matter, you take over.

It looks like Justin Verlander and Yovani Gallardo are your best chances to get wins today. Danks is 0 - 7... maybe he's due, but I wouldn't expect it. Haren is below .500 in his career against Minnesota, but Haren is also doing really good for LA this year. But then again, it could turn out to be one of those freaky days where everything gets turned on it's head and nothing we expect to happen actually happens.

Personally, I'm expecting my 2 pitchers to go 1 - 1 today. Zach Britton should win this game for the Orioles today, but then again, it is Oakland he's pitching against. History says that Jurrjens tanks against Cincinnati, but he's been the Brave's best starting pitcher so far this season so maybe, maybe not. I'd like to get two wins, but I just don't expect it to happen. But then again, I could get 2 no decisions or even worse... 2 losses.

So you never know what's gonna happen.

The people that are having good luck by ignoring their team are having that...luck and nothing more. They benefited from a good draft, having players possibly playing above their potential, and by not being bitten by the injury bug to starting players (I've had a ton of that this year :wha: )

I'm actually thinking of bumping up the minimum innings pitched again because everyone that is actually paying attention to their teams are shattering the 24 inning minimum and I really don't think it's fair that some people committed to play and are not paying any attention whatsoever and just being the benefit of luck. There should be a penalty for not monitoring your team. I mean come on, you can set your line-up as far advance as you want, you can't check your team once a week? :wha:

DemonGeminiX

If I had played 2 batters instead of benching them, I would've won. I had them both in the lineup, but decided against it at the very last minute. It's currently tied, but he has one starting pitcher left pitching and is currently winning that game. If that pitcher gets through the 6th without giving up 2 runs, he wins the week by one quality start. If my pitchers hadn't tanked all week, it would be over already. And strangely enough, even though it's just a game and completely meaningless in the long run, I'm seriously pissed about it.

It's not about losing, it's about having these supposed aces in my starting rotation, and none of them are living up to their potential. And seriously, the majority of my starting pitchers are considered aces. I can take one losing every once in a while, but it's like none of them could win during the week. I should have like 7 quality starts, because that's what my pitchers do, they keep the other team's score low through 6-7 innings before the team goes to the bullpen for the relievers. That's my starters' M.O. They keep the score low. I could be losing all week long and not be bothered by losing, as long as my pitchers are living up to their "ace" titles. I can accept that my batters aren't hitting, because I know I screwed up the draft when selecting batters. That's why I've turned over so many players, because I'm looking for batters that can compete with everybody else. And I think that trading some guys out here and there is ok when I'm looking for those puzzle pieces to fit in my lineup. Now, I've turned over a few pitchers here and there, but I've kept the core pitching rotation that I've selected in the draft in my lineup from day 1. And I really need them to perform. When they don't perform, it just makes me mad.

I have no problem with the people who want to set their line-ups a few days in advance, hell even a week in advance is fine. Not everyone can always get to a PC to watch the line-ups, so I have no problem with that. My problem is that there were people that said they were going to participate, even seemed excited about having a league, and then don't check their team for a month or more, if ever.

I think it is what it is. If I decide to leave my lineup alone, so be it. If I decide to swap out 6 players a week, so be it. I sat a pitcher yesterday intentionally.

Yes, but that's a conscious decision you made yesterday, not the way your line-up happened to play out because it hasn't been changed since the draft.

4 out of 5 ain't bad.

My hitters aren't that bad, either. They might not be big name guys, but overall, they produce. I might not have been able to measure up this week against the majority of you guys in the hitting department, but I've had weeks where my core hitter's production have made the competition cringe. Maybe next week will be different.

do you even understand how the standings work? it appears as though it is straight up win % over loss %, but the GB column doesn't make sense to me :-k ...

I have been drinking though

I don't know either, but it took me two week to figure out the win-loss-ties was based on the stats. Not just the head to head match-u[\p

I never took you for a drinker.

Anyway, the percentage is number of wins divided by number of wins + number of losses. The ties are disregarded.

Games back = (absolute value((difference in wins) - (difference in losses)))/2

I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Edit: fixed a mistake.
