A Florida host dad accused of molesting the teen sister of the Spanish foreign exchange student he married reportedly killed himself while awaiting trial.
Police responded Tuesday morning to a report of at least one person dead at the Cutler Bay home where 50-year-old Dale Leary was released to house arrest, the Miami Herald reported. Leary was allegedly discovered inside a car with a woman believed to be his ex-wife, Claudia Leary, who was taken to the hospital.
The couple separated in 2014 when Dale Leary left his wife to marry Marta San Jose, a Spanish foreign exchange student living with them soon after her 18th birthday.
Leary and San Jose, now 21, were arrested last month on allegations they lured her 14-year-old sister to live at their home, where she was molested for years, according to authorities.
According to arrest affidavits, San Jose manipulated her sister to believe she had been molested by her parents and to let Leary perform a vaginal examination. She also allegedly convinced the 14-year-old to allow her husband to perform sex acts on her as therapy.
Leary, along with San Jose, faced charges that include lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, possession of child pornography and engaging in a sexual act with a familial child.
