It is a dangerous time to be non-politically correct.
And even famed liberal Ben Affleck has found this out to his cost after it emerged he said kissing another man is the 'greatest acting challenge an actor can ever face'.
Fellow luvvie Evan Rachel Wood lambasted him for his comment on Tuesday, despite the fact the 44-year-old said it 20 years ago while filming Chasing Amy.
Marilyn Manson's 29-year-old former fiance, who describes herself as bisexual, tweeted: 'Try getting raped in a scene. Also, grow up Ben.'
When someone pointed out he has in fact grown up, by some 20 years, since making his comment, she responded: 'I'm sure he just thought it was a funny, but even jokes like that are damaging.'
Somewhat ironically, in Chasing Amy Ben plays a comic artist who falls in love with a bisexual woman, a development that upsets his best friend.

Westworld star Evan, who has a son with former spouse Jamie Bell, finished her tirade by reflecting on the enormous sacrifices actresses have to make in the line of duty.
She said: 'Also, you think us ladies like kissing all the guys we kiss? Just cause its a "straight kiss" doesnt mean we enjoy it. Ahem.'
The actress released he bellows of protest after discovering Ben's fateful words from an article in Paper magazine.
Director Kevin Smith revealed during a question and answer session following a screening of the 1997 that his old chum had been far from excited at the prospect of sharing a smooch with co-star Jason Lee.
He claimed that Ben said 'a man kissing another man is the greatest acting challenge an actor can ever face.'
And the hi-jinks continued once the scene was filmed, with Ben declaring, 'now, I'm a serious actor.'
In another ironic turn the film was screened at Outfest at the weekend, an event exhibiting queer-themed films and videos.
