Are boobs on the outs? This seems to be the case for millennials, at least in regards to their porn-viewing habits. New data released by Pornhub has revealed a rather distinct generational trend regarding our cultural fondness for breasts.

Their data revealed the younger the generation, the less interested they are in women’s mammories. The data exhibits young adults ages 18 to 24 are almost 20 percent less likely to search for breast-related content on the site whereas those 55 to 64 were 17 percent more likely. The age groups in between ascend as viewers age increases.

Don’t get me wrong: This by no means suggests breasts aren’t popular. “Big natural boobs” ranks fourth in overall searches on the site, and daily breast searches exceed millions. The figure just may not be as popular as you’d assume. On average, only 1.5 percent of daily searches on Porhub are boob-related. Of that 1.5 percent, 0.89 search for large breasts, 0.29 percent search for natural breasts, 0.09 percent search for small breasts, and fake breasts finish last with 0.06 percent. In fact, searches related to fake boobs don’t break the top 25 in breast-related searches.

Considering there are three parts of the anatomy regarded as mostly sexual (boobs, butt, vagina), boobs don’t get much love at all. Then again, searching for a body part on a porn site probably isn’t as popular as searching for a specific actor or category. I mean, before clicking on a clip, there are thumbnails of the scene and breasts are often front and center. Oftentimes, it’s no secret if they’re real or fake.

The expanse of data shows that fake breasts were quite popular in early 2013 but the trend began to sag (hardy har har) in 2014. In 2015, interest in fake breasts had dropped even further and a surge in natural breasts emerged, experiencing its most significant growth from 2015 to 2016. Since then however, they too have lost their lustre.

This trend is not limited to porn, either. Figures regarding breast enlargement surgery follows a similar structure. In 2015, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) witnessed a 20 percent drop in breast augmentation whereas breast reduction surgeries experienced a small increase of three percent. That same year, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery noted that they’d performed more than 38,000 individual breast implant removals on patients regretting their decision to increase their cup size. According to Today, that figure increased by 22 percent the following year.

“It was a fashion thing,” Jackie Lewis, a consultant plastic surgeon and BAAPS member told The Telegraph. “It was the ‘in’ thing to be big breasted, this whole ‘I’m a Baywatch bimbette.’”

Sarah Pedersen, professor of communications and media at Robert Gordon University, underscores this sentiment. “We tend to have responses against what was previously in fashion. It tends to go in peaks and troughs. At the moment larger breasts are out though I’m sure they’ll come back. We tend to react to what went before.”

The same can be said for porn. Of the results, Corey Price, Pornhub’s VP tells Mel Magazine, “What I can say for certain is that people have an eclectic taste when it comes to their porn consumption. Everyone has their own preference. What might be a turnoff for someone, might be a turn-on for someone else. That, in an essence, is the beauty of porn.”

While that’s a wonderful sentiment to end on, we’d like to suggest that maybe boobs are out because butts are in.

When we were younger, boobies were everything. If boys aren't into breasts I would hazard a guess saying they're gay or pansexual or non gendered or spivaks or whatever the term may be this week..

I think it is due to access, porn wasn't everywhere and freely available, so boobs were the initial desire, the forbidden fun.
Now with everything so readily available we're breeding a generation of fuckwits who have never climbed the ladder of porn, they started with it all.

can't be a good thing.

Only old people use search features for porn. Us younger generation raised with easy access just sort by 'most popular' or maybe chose a category, flip through a page or two, find something to beat the meat to, and get back to doing millennial things like ruining baby boomer industries and hating white cis men.
