HUNDREDS of fanatics attended a sellout Flat Earth International Conference (FEIC) to discuss everything from “NASA lies” to 9/11 conspiracies, it has been revealed.
The annual event is held by a community who rejects the idea of “a heliocentric globe-earth model” in favour of a flat, stationary Earth.
FEIC said on its website: “After extensive experimentation, analysis, and research, we have come to know that the truth of our cosmology is not that which we’ve been told."
The website explains the community suspect the planet is a circular disk shape that relies on Antarctica to provide an icy wall barrier.
The ice barrier is supposed to prevent humans walking off the edge of the Earth.
Flat-Earther Mark Sargent has over 40,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel and attended the conference.
Speaking to the BBC about the “thickness” of a flat Earth, he said: "Nobody likes this uncomfortable feeling to be in this tiny ball, flying through space in this vast endless universe.
"So as far as what's underneath this, I don't know, it could be this thickness.
"It doesn't even have to be that think, because we can only drill down eight miles. Heck, this is only fifty miles deep, we don't know. So, it could be this sort of dimension."
"Don't take my word for it, I could be a mental patient recently released from an institution."
The gathering in North Carolina cost up to £114 ($150) a ticket and was a complete sell-out.
The society claims their experimentation, analysis and research “proves” their theory is right and everyone else is wrong.
The items on their agenda included the idea that a spherical Earth is an elaborate hoax while “Flat Earth with the Scientific Method” examines the “lies” told by mainstream science.
The session on "Nasa and other Space Lies" aimed to break down the “flaws” presented by the space agency and there was also a session on the “faked moon landing”.
But, the speakers also touched on a variety of other conspiracies too, such as the 9/11 attacks never happened, the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary were fiction and Government mind control.
Some celebrities, such as NBA player Kyrie Irving and Tila Tequila have said they think the planet is flat.
But, the idea of a spherical Earth has been accepted since antiquity.

In 330 BC, the Greek philosopher Aristotle provided evidence for a spherical Earth on empirical grounds.
But this does not stop people from postulating theories about a flat Earth.
Flat-Earthers took to social media to explain how a solar eclipse takes place.
Some believe the sun and the moon are simply holograms projected in the sky, to convince the masses that we are part of the universe which we are led to believe we are in.
Sometimes, these holograms need updates, Flat-Earthers say.
A person with the username Hoeskioeh wrote on Reddit: “Maintenance downtime of the sun/moon hologram, new firmware upgrade.”
Another explanation is that the moon is actually much larger than the sun.
In reality, the sun’s diameter is 400 times larger than the moon’s – and it crosses in front of it to turn the day black.
Reddit user Anschauung wrote: “The sun is very small and much closer to Earth than ‘roundies’ claim it to be.
“It's only a few hundred meters wide and about five miles above our disc.
“The moon is much, much larger and a tiny little bit closer. When the enormous moon passes just beneath the tiny sun it completely obscures its light.”
