Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Viagra will be available for purchase of the counter in Britain, the country's medicines regulator announced Tuesday.

Britain's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency made the decision to allow pharmacists to determine whether men older than 18 can purchase the erectile dysfunction medication.

"This decision is good news for men's health," Mick Foy, the MHRA's group manager in vigilance and risk management of medicines, said.

Manufacturer Pfizer hopes to deliver stocks of the over-the-counter pill Viagra Connect to British pharmacies by spring 2018.

The product won't be sold to men who have severe heart disease or high risk of cadiovascular disease, liver failure, severe kidney failure or those taking medications that may cause a negative reaction when combined with Viagra.

Viagra Connect will be available in a four-tablet pack and eight-tablet pack with recommended retail prices of about $26 and $46 respectively.

The MHRA hopes the increased ease of availability will prevent men from seeking to buy the pills from unregulated websites.

"As erectile dysfunction may be a sign of an underlying condition such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease, there could also be a wider benefit to public health in the long term," Pfizer's medical director in Britain, Dr. Berkeley Phillips, said. "We hope that this forthcoming new opportunity to purchase a genuine treatment via pharmacy will also reduce the likelihood of men turning to potentially ineffective and dangerous counterfeits from illicit sources."

So you can prevent conception with plan B with no restrictions but can't get a hard on without talking to a doctor. Makes sense.

Fun fact - if you fuck at 7pm, take plan B, then fuck a WHOLE bunch more until morning, the chick can still get pregnant.

Don't ask me how I know that...
