A woman driving in Plymouth Township called police to report that a man was exposing himself to her while they were stopped at a traffic light at Ann Arbor and Haggerty roads.
Turns out he was trying to put a sex toy in his pants to surprise his wife, according to police.
Police stopped the man in his silver Ford Edge after receiving initial reports that he was exposing himself. He also was violating a law by not wearing his seat belt as he tried to put the sex toy in the zipper of his pants, a police report said.
The man told police he had intended to take a picture with the sex toy in his pants and send it to his wife as a joke, the report said.
Police checked back with the woman who complained and she said it could have been a case of mistaken indecent exposure.
Police gave the man a ticket for not wearing a seat belt during the Nov. 30 incident and advised him to make better decisions while driving.
