For the second time in eight days, a New Jersey native is no longer a college student after using a racial slur on social media.

Georgia State women's soccer player Natalia Martinez reportedly was suspended and withdrew from school after a message in which she used the N-word on one of her social media accounts came to the attention of school officials.

This appeared on the Twitter feed of someone claiming to part of the Georgia State community:

Martinez is a native of Elizabeth who played high school soccer in Florida, according to her bio on the school's official athletics website. The page since has been removed.

Martinez used the racial slur on her Finsta page -- a supposedly private spin-off of the popular Instagram -- and a campus petition calling for the university to take expel Martinez had more than 500 signatures by Monday afternoon, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Georgia State University released a statement condemning Martinez without naming her -- "We do not tolerate the language the student used in her post" -- and announcing she was suspended from the team. A later update from the school confirmed she was no longer enrolled as a student.

"We felt like that was kind of a slap in the face, especially considering how many students of color are here," she said. "There's so many students of color here why would you want to be here, if you feel that way about us?" student India Bridgeforth told WSB-TV in Atlanta.

The story comes on the heels of the University of Alabama expelling Harley Barber, a 19-year-old student from Marlton who used the same racial slur multiple times in videos posted to social media on Martin Luther King Day.

The videos went viral and prompted national outrage.

Barber was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority but not a NCAA athlete.

"I did something really, really bad," Barber told The New York Post. "I don't know what to do, and I feel horrible. I'm wrong, and there's just no excuse for what I did. I feel so, so bad, and I am so sorry."

Martinez has not commented since her post was discovered.

And what makes it worse is, she wasn't even using it in a racist or derogatory manner. I'm betting if someone black had said that same thing, nobody would have said a word. Gotta love double standards.

I really don't understand these people that set out every day to find something, anything to be offended by.

I can see if her peers want to castigate her over it, but to call for expulsion?

Complete lunacy.

Exactly. If she had said, "I am not getting enough playing time because of the niggers on the team" - different discussion.

This is complete bullshit. Fuck these people.

why would you want to be here, if you feel that way about us?

Feel what way exactly? You mean she feels joyful and excited about an accomplishment? Asshole.
