Bill has a small point about reduced family size (in some sectors of the world), but he glosses over the fact of the core problem.

The population is still increasing too fast for current food production to accommodate. And the thing that Bill didn't show is the percentage of allotment.

Ever see the graphs showing 'this percent' of the world's population uses this much of the world food supply? It's accurate and frightening. Redistribution is something that needs to happen, but is rarely spoken about. North Americans throw out more food daily than some people eat daily on other continents.

The math is simple. The current world population has large pockets of starvation at 7.5 billion people. Increasing medical science and longevity is altruistic on the surface, yet it still doesn't address farming and water needs for the additional 3 billion people we will see added in the next 80 years. Or more simply, we're suffering now. If future family growth is limited as Bill postulates, starvation and food shortages still exist for the people already living on the planet.

*caveat - Bill Gates has helped more people on this planet through charity and development than anyone else in history. Comments above are not meant to discredit his actions.
