A SHOCKING video exploring the surface of the moon in crisp detail has stunned the world with claims we have been deceived and the moon is about two to three kilometres from Earth.

Conspiracy theorist and flat Earther Allan Nielsen claims to have exposed the monumental truth about the actual distance from the moon to Earth with nothing more than a handheld camera.

It is a well established scientific fact the moon averages a distance of around 384,400 km from the surface of the planet, but conspiracists still fiercely debate this.

Mr Nielsen’s crackpot theory has now shortened this gap down to a distance the average person walks in less than an hour.

The conspiracy theory YouTuber said: “Can anybody explain to me how it can be the moon seems so close?

“Because this is not what we’ve been taught in school.”

But how did the YouTuber come to this shocking discovery he is convinced is real?

In order to calculate the distance to the moon, he used a Nikon P900 digital camera to zoom all the way into Earth’s natural satellite.

He then used the exact same camera to zoom in on some electric windmills he said were 2.5km away from where he was standing.

The crisp amount of detail and the visibly course surface of the moon, compared to the detail in the windmills, was supposedly evidence of his theory.

He said: “This is max zoom. Explain that please.”

“We have been lied to. There is no way the moon sits out in deep space – it’s quite close to us.

“I cannot say how close but it’s really close. Do your own research, but we have been lied to.”

In the video description, he added: “No way the moon is about 400,000km from earth! No way!”

The bizarre video follows similar claims from popular YouTuber Richie from Boston, who used identical methods to speculate the moon’ distance after filming a building 7.5km from his home.

The conspiracy theorist blasted US space agency NASA for deceiving the world about the moon and many other scientific facts.

He said: “They’re lying to us. Do not believe NASA because they are lying about our entire origin.”

Moon conspiracy: The YouTuber thinks he should not be able to zoom this close on the moon

In regards to the moon he said: “Richie from Boston. Everything that they tell us is a lie.

“I can zoom in more on the Moon than I can on a building that I can see with my naked eye.

“That’s crazy.”

But despite these bunkum theories and outrageous claims there is ample scientific evidence to prove just how far away the moon actually is.

Moon conspiracists think NASA are lying about the distance from Earth to the moon

With the use of powerful lasers on Earth and the Lunar Laser Ranging RetroReflectors on the moon, scientists at NASA have been able to precisely calculate the Moon’s distance and location.

The US space agency explained: “The distance to these retroreflectors from the Earth can be and is still routinely measured to the centimetre level or better, and their relative positions are known to a similar level.

“Such measurements can be used for several purposes, such as precisely determining the orientation and orbit of the Moon, testing gravitation and general relativity theories, and for establishing a highly precise latitude and longitude coordinate frame for the Moon.”

I zoomed in on a fly on the window 3 feet away from me and then on the skyscraper downtown. The detail of the image was similar, so the skyscraper MUST be between 2 and 10 feet away from me.

Just because you all don't understand science, you mock it. He proved it. :shakehead:

Of course it's possible. It's in orbit around us.

Here's my pic of the moon:
