An inmate at the Dauphin County Prison will stand trial on charges he gave an envelope to a prosecutor that contained "only fecal matter," according to the district attorney's office.

On Monday, Rasheem Drummond, 34, of Harrisburg, waived his preliminary hearing on charges of aggravated harassment by a prisoner.

Court records indicate the incident occurred on May 1.

Charges of retaliation against prosecutor or judicial official and disorderly conduct were withdrawn, according to court records.

Records state Drummond was being held in prison on $100,000 bail for a robbery in Harrisburg from Jan. 2017, and he is representing himself in the case.

As a result of the new charge, District Judge David O'Leary ordered Drummond be held without bail because he "constitutes a threat to the community," records state.

"During a pre-trial court hearing, Drummond handed (the prosecutor) an envelope purporting to be a letter regarding pre-trial matters. When the envelope was opened by (the prosecutor) in court, it was found to contain only fecal matter," according to the district attorney's office.
