NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) - Police said no crime was committed when a naked woman was found on the ground in New Haven.

They said they were called to an address on Rock Creek Road around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.

They had a section of the road taped off.

Police said they initially investigated whether or not the woman was sexually assaulted and bound.

They said her mouth did not have tape over it as was previously reported; however, she did have blood on her.

The blood, they learned, was naturally occurring.

They said she is not from the immediate area, but could live elsewhere in the city.

The woman was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Investigators determined that no crime was committed after speaking with her.

“We send enough officers and detectives and investigators to try and figure out what exactly may have happened," said Officer David Hartman, New Haven police. “She is uninjured, unharmed, and she is being evaluated at an area hospital.”

The investigation was wrapped up at the scene.

There's no word on whether or not the woman will face charges of her own.
