Unfortunately all those people that lined up for our annual Calgary Stampede parade were disappointed...when the royals 'showed up',
they were in the back of a limo and sped past the fans without stopping...:lol: Many who waited on the parade route didn't even see them :(

they made a good impression all across our country....until they arrived here in Calgary.

They were supposed to be in our annual Stampede parade.Typically famous folks sit in a convertible and wave for the entire parade.
Wills and Kate's motorcade shows up (45 minutes late) and they literally speed through the parade route, not stopping once.They were
in the back of a limo and you couldn't even see them for most of the drive by :lol: :lol:

folks waited overnight for wristbands to sit along the parade route and camped out overnight in lawn chairs

During our Stampede festivities, we are a 'cowboy town'.It's our rep because we're in cattle country and do a lot of farming...

So when foreign dignitaries or famous celebs come here, we 'White Hat' them.We give them stetsons and they represent a sort of key to the city.
Protocol says it's an honor and 99% of the honorees put the hat on right away and wear it around.

Wills and Kate politely said thank you and then never donned the lids....people were in shock :lol:

Lance have you ever seen our grandstand hi-lites? Chuckwagon races, bull riding, calf ropin....they even have little buckaroos trying to jump onto wild ponies...
