Two people have been shot outside a Tube station in the latest spate of London violence.

Both victims were found with gunshot wounds near Rayners Lane Station at around 5.10pm this afternoon – just five miles from where three others were shot yesterday.

The men, who attempted to flee before emergency services arrived, were rushed to a major trauma centre ‘as a priority’.

The 18 and 24-year-old victims are not believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

Two other men, aged 18 and 25, who were with the victims at the scene, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Their arrests came following reports that the victims had been shot by men who fled on a moped.

The 18 and 25-year-old were taken into custody following reports that there had been shots fired in return at the males on the moped.

They have been taken to a police station in west London for questioning.

A spokesperson said: ‘A male is reported to have fired shots at another group of males before fleeing the scene with an accomplice on a moped.

‘Officers attended along with specialist firearms colleagues.

‘Two males suffering from gunshot wounds were located in the garden of a nearby residential address having fled the scene.

‘Two males have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder; they have been taken to a west London police station. A crime scene is in place.

‘Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances around the incident and officers continue to trace the males on the moped.’

The scene remains cordoned off.

Yesterday, three people were injured after a shooting in north-west London.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to the scene on Kingsbury Road, Brent, close to Kingsbury Tube station, at about 9.45pm on Monday.

The three people were rushed to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
