This mofo has GOT TO GO!!!!!! The only question is, will Holder fall on his sword for Savior, so we dont have (more) reason to impeach him. Holder is plainly guilty of quite a few abuses of his position, this gunrunner one is just as over the top if not more than disregarding law on the black panther case.

Does anybody honestly believe that Obama has not known about this from just about the very beginning?

http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/2011/07/holder-bragged-about-operation-gunrunner-2009

On May 3, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa's committee that he only learned about the government's sale of weapons to Mexican drug cartels "in the last few weeks."

But Big Government found a 2009 speech by Holder on the Department of Justice's own website that proves the attorney general was well aware of Operation Gunrunner back in 2009:

The problem with Holder’s feigned ignorance is that he gave a speech in Cuernavaca, Mexico, on April 2, 2009, in which he boasted about Operation 'Gunrunner” and told Mexican authorities of everything he was doing to insure its success.

When questioned by the media, Holder also denied knowing anything about Gunrunner:

"Holder's office at first vehemently denied ATF has ever knowingly allowed weapons to get into the hands of suspected gunrunners for Mexico's drug cartels," CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reported.

But at the arms trafficking conference in Cuernavaca, Holder not only acknowledged the program, he bragged that he was in the process of expanding it:

"Last week, our administration launched a major new effort to break the backs of the cartels. My department is committing 100 new ATF personnel to the Southwest border in the next 100 days to supplement our ongoing Project Gunrunner, DEA is adding 16 new positions on the border, as well as mobile enforcement teams, and the FBI is creating a new intelligence group focusing on kidnapping and extortion. DHS is making similar commitments, as Secretary Napolitano will detail."

So Holder's May 3rd denial appears to be refuted by his own words.

First, let me express my thanks to Attorney General Medina Mora and Secretary of Government Gomez Mont for making this conference possible.

This is my first trip to another country as Attorney General. I wanted to come to Mexico to deliver a single message: We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you in this fight against the narcotics cartels. The United States shares responsibility for this problem and we will take responsibility by joining our Mexican counterparts in every step of this fight.

Props to West for calling out O'novice on it.

Awesome, we paid for it with stimulus funds, too

Buried in Barack Obama’s failed trillion-dollar stimulus program was a $10 million bloody border racket that has now cost American lives. This goes far beyond the usual waste, fraud and abuse underwritten by progressive profligacy. It’s bloodstained government malfeasance overseen by anti-gun ideologues — and now anti-gun ideologue Attorney General Eric Holder will “investigate.”

Welcome to Project Gunrunner. Prepare for another Justice Department whitewash.

but you have to ask the question… is this a bigger “scandal” than …

* Watergate?
* Clinton’s blue dress incident and his lying in court?
* Whitewater?
* Halliburton during the Bush 43?
* Abu Ghraib?
* Valerie Plame “outing” by a GOP insider who never outed her?
* Filegate – the Clinton administration’s efforts to store FBI files “for later reference?”
* Newt Gingrich’s financial improprieties?
* The Keating Five?

Your post needs a revised title: "Wingnuts slur Obama Administration due to ignorance, partisans repost errors all over the Internet-- once again, their facts are wrong"

The article you post claims that because Holder knew of Project Gunrunner, therefore he knew of the particular of individual gun transfers. Anyone who'd done even the most cursory investigation would see that that assertion is unfounded.

What your post ignores, and what anyone who took the trouble to do even a little research would know, is that Project Gunrunner was and is a very large program to interdict guns on the border, and to trace the origins of guns used in crimes in Mexico and Latin America. The particular incidents that you're referring to represent an alleged incident that may (or may not) have occurred in a much larger program. "Project GunRunner" was not (as you seem to think) a program of permitting illegal guns to cross the border, and nothing in your post indicates that Holder knew of the events in question. He might have, he might not have, but your post offers no evidence with respect to that.

The purpose of Project Gunrunner is preventing gun smuggling by tracking guns both on the US side of the border, and id'ing them when found in Mexico.

Holder was clearly speaking of those activities in speaking of Project Gunrunner. He knew of that program, and so did the public . . . there is no "gotcha" where you imagine it.

So your post's claim about catching Holder in an "outright lie" is itself just plain wrong.

"Project Gunrunner" has existed since the Bush Administration, having started as a pilot project in El Paso in 2005, and subsequently expanded. It is not an invention of the Obama Administration or Attorney General Holder, and the fact that he knew about the program is neither surprising nor proof of any dishonesty - everyone who could read a press release knew about Project GunRunner, since the Bush Administration had publicized it for years.

:lol: Well, I'm certainly not surprised to see you towing the party line, deep - you can only feign impartiality for so long before things come out that make you show your bias.

Gunrunner may have originated before Holder, but Fast and Furious did not. This was set up under the gun runner name because it already existed and made it easy for them to up the crisis and make their case for more gun control - see, nice and easy, point right back to bush :roll: Its getting pretty old, like we havent seen that one fifty times already.
