A MAN is fighting for his life after a dog ‘bit off his penis and testicles’ in a horror attack.
Emergency services raced to the scene in Haddington, East Lothian, after the alarm was raised on Sunday.
Cops found the 22-year-old victim unconscious in a pool of blood at a flat.
An Olde English Bulldogge, which was drenched in gore, was also found at the property.
It is understood the animal belonged to a friend of the man.
Ambulance crews called for police backup and the victim was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
He’s now thought to be in a coma, having been moved to the Western General.
The Daily Star reports that the man lost his penis and both of his testicles as a result of the attack.
And the victim hasn’t been interviewed by cops as he hasn’t regain consciousness since the incident.
The dog is being held in kennels while cops carry out a probe.
And it’s not known if the man owns the dog.
A source said: “Officers who were there are confident the injuries were caused by the dog because of the extent of the damage.
“Everyone there was shocked and sickened.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police in East Lothian are investigating after a man suffered serious injuries, believed to have been caused by a dog, in Haddington on Sunday.
“Emergency services were called to a property in the High Street area at around 2.30pm.
“A 22-year-old man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by the Scottish Ambulance Service, and later transferred to the Western General Hospital where he remains receiving treatment.
“Inquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing.”
